What does Austria believe? Practical theological perspectives on the formerly Catholic Austria

Abstract
Based on five selected thematic areas, this article offers insights into the study What Does Austria Believe?. The representative study was conducted between 2023 and 2024 as a multimedia collaboration between the University of Vienna and the Department of Religion and Ethics at the ORF (public broadcaster in Austria) and captures the concepts of meaning, values and beliefs held by people residing in Austria. The author interprets the results from a practical theological perspective and outlines implications for the Church and pastoral care.
