Orientation through philosophy An overview
Main Article Content
Abstract
Orientational knowledge encompasses more than mere factual knowledge. Orientation through philosophy is a specific, ethically qualified form of orientational knowledge. The full meaning of orientation through philosophy only becomes clear when, as in this text, various forms or aspects of this specific orientation are differentiated and juxtaposed. I describe this orientation through philosophy on the basis of Kant’s cosmopolitan concept of philosophy, in the sense of virtue ethics, as a form of self-articulation, bringing values to life and a cultivation of the heart.
